Start of Spring

Time to get the deck together!

Bought a new gazebo to replace the one destroyed in the hurricane last summer.

Newest addition to the Nursery

Decided on this mobile. It matches the poster. Not very woodland but looks amazing!

Happy Birthday to Me

Craft Room Inspiration

From the now-defunct Blueprint magazine:

A pop of pink

This is the accent color in the master bedroom. I'm thinking of using a pashmina as a throw/shawl on a reading chair.

Room by Room

We've made lots of progress on the second floor and could have nearly all the rooms (with the exception of the bathroom) decorated by summer. Then it's time to move on to the first floor.
Here's how I'm predicting the order of completion:

1. Kids' Bathroom
• Organize closet/under the sink
• Replace faucet
• Hang hooks
• Hang photos, artwork
• Repaint step stool (optional)

2. Kid's Bedroom
• Organize art supplies
• Buy desk and desk chair

3. Nursery
√ Organize closet
• Make and hang tree artwork
√ Hang ledge and all framed artwork
• Buy side table/table lamp

4. Master Bedroom
• Hem drapes
• Buy√ and hang pullbacks
• Buy box for bedside
• Paint (upholster?) bench
• Buy and mount tv
• Buy side table
√ Second photo to flank window
• Replace ceiling fan
• Buy gold leaf artwork
• Silver leaf frame
• Buy king size mattress
• Buy headboard
• Reupholster armchair
• Buy hang display cube
• Paint walls?

5. Master Bathroom/Closet (simple fixes)
• Paint or Hang wallpaper in closet
• New light fixture for closet
• Paint cabinetry / new pulls
• Buy/hang medicine cabinets
• New window treatment
• Organize closet

Clean Cabinet

Doesn't look like much but love the simplicity of this medicine cabinet by Robern.

Little Trees

I love these wallpaper trees, available for A LOT of money from Romp in Brooklyn. Since I can't afford them, I've decided to use them as inspiration for artwork in the nursery (project #5): a pair of framed prints to hang over the crib made using scrapbook paper.

I'm thinking of doing a spring/summer tree and a fall tree; something like this...

The inspiration/idea for doing tree prints comes from the artwork in the foreground of this nursery, posted on Apartment Therapy's Ohdeedoh website.

Bathroom Fun

A few ideas to add a splash of fun to the kids bathroom (Winter/Spring Project #7)

This print is by John W. Golden, available on Etsy.

The boys' towels will hang on these adorable hooks, from Paper Source.
